what is a `single-camera production?`
The single camera setup or single camera mode of production which is also known as portable single camera is a method of filmmaking and also video production.
What are the benefits and limitations of single-camera techniques?
What is a `multi-camera production`?
The multi camera setup is a video production method where several cameras record or broadcast a scene at the same time. So it is just multiple cameras filming.

A benefit is that it is easier and cheaper to move and also to set up than multi camera which is more expensive and usually only allows for one take

Task Two research
Documentary
Documentary videos use a lot of camera techniques the main ones i picked out for movements are zooming, tilting and panning.
There aren`t many framing shots that i could see but the main one that stood out the most was medium close up or close up.
They use a lot of angle/shots when filming the ones i picked up on are birds eye view, establishing shot, over the shoulder or maybe sometimes point of view.
I would think that documentarys use multi camera technique because if you are watching and animal documentary they will have multiple cameras setup to get the shot that they want.
Advertisements
Advertisements use a lot of camera techniques they use tracking, zooming, panning and steadicam.
The type of framing they will use is long sot, medium long shot, mid shot, medium close up and close up.
The type of angle/shots they might use is two shot, wide angle and maybe establishing shot.
I think that is single camera because they dont need to catch many different shots and they can do it with one camera.
sport events
The type of camera techniques that sport events use are tracking, zooming and panning.
You could say they use all types of framing depending on the sport event that you are watching but the main ones i picked out are long shot, medium long shot, mid shot and medium close up.
The type of angle/shots that they use are two shot or even birds eye view.
I think that they would have to use multi camera technique because you would want to catch everything that happens in different angles and it can also be used as good evidence for decision making.
soap and sitcom
soap tv and sitcom shows normally use tracking, zooming, tilting and panning.
I think that soap and sitcom would use all of the framing techniques.
The type of angle/shots that i think would be used in soap and sitcom is birds eye view, over the shoulder, two shot, high/low angle and establishing shot.
I think that soap and sitcom shows would use multi camera technique because they would want to capture the scene in different angles because some angles might be better and it will help speed things up.
TV Drama
The type of camera movement that tv drama shows will use is tracking, zooming, tilting, panning and steadicam.
The of framing techniques that tv drama shows would use is long shot, medium long shot, close up and mid shot.
The type of angle/shot techniques that i think they would use is birds eye view, establishing shot, two shot, wide angle and maybe over the shoulder.

youtube vlogs
YouTube vlogs us many camera techniques one technique that they use is hand-held, tracking and zooming.
They also use framing techniques like mid shot, medium close up, close up and maybe sometimes medium long shot.
The type of angle/shots they would use is point of view.
I think that youtube vlogs would use single camera techniques because they dont need to spend a lot of money and they only need one person to be the centre of attention so one camera would be enough.
Music video
Music videos use a lot of camera techniques but the main ones i see are panning, zooming and tracking all of those are in the movement section.
They also use a lot of framing techniques but the ones which i picked out are long shot, medium long shot, medium close up big close up and mid shot. They use different type of framing in one video.
The angle/shots technique that they use in music videos are wide angles two shots and establishing shot.
I think that a lot of music videos use single camera technique because when filming a music video it is not like you have to capture a lot of scenes.

focus
Focus is the process of capturing your subject in a crisp sharp image. Whether using manual focus or auto-focus controls on your camera there is no fixing an out of focus photo (even using the very best software).

Shutter speed
shutter speed is measured in seconds or in most cases fractions of seconds. The bigger the denominator the faster the speed.
Shutter speed will usually double with (approximately) with each setting. This doubling is handy to know as aperture settings also double the amount of light that is let in as a result increasing shutter speed by one stop and decreasing aperture by one stop should give you similar exposure levels.

Aperture
Aperture is the opening in the lens when you hit the camera shutter release button a, hole opens up that allows your camera image sensor to catch a glimpse of the scene you're capturing. The aperture you set impacts the size of that hole. The larger the hole the more light enters the smaller the hole then less light enters.

Focal length is one of the most common uses for zoom lenses is to zoom in on objects that are far away. While this flexibility might seem tempting for getting close to awkward objects there is another benefit of zoom lenses when taking portraits in front of a vast spread of scenery (background compression).

ISO
ISO is the measuring of a digital camera sensors and how sensitive it is to light.
In digital photography ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same principles apply as in film photography with the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.
The higher number means your sensor becomes more sensitive to light which allows you to use your camera in darker situations. The cost of doing so is more grain (although the more expensive the camera and lens are the more able to you will be to use high ISO settings and still get very useable images).

A shot taken from a subjects line of sight allowing the audience to see what the subject sees.

A shot taken from an extreme distance always occurring at the start of a scene.
LAA: CORE ASSESSMENT
Music video
I picked this music video because the rapper NLE choppa uses single camera technique in this music video. At the start of the music video he uses a close up I feel like he uses this so that he can introduce himself at the start of the music to show the people that are new to his music how he looks the effect that I think this would have is that we get to see how he really looks up close so that for the rest of the music video we know who he is.
Also at the start at 11 seconds in the music video they use a close but in this close up you can clearly see how they put NLE as the main focus because everything behind him is blurred out it is a really quick shot but because of how they blurred everything out in the back and made NLE the main focus it will catch the viewer's attention how they done this is they changed the aperture and made it low so it is around 2.2.
NLE choppa also uses the wide angle technique in his music video he does this because he has a lot of friends in the video and he would want to get them all in the video so a wide shot would be the best choice. The effect this technique would have is that the viewer would be able to see everything his friends are doing all the dance moves they do.
In the music video he uses medium long shot i think that he uses this technique so that he can get the dance moves that they are doing in the video in a good shot for the camera. The effect that this camera technique would have is that it would make it easier for the viewer to see the dance move. When they are in the room with a little bit of light they are using the medium long shot they turn down the ISO and it looks like they turned it down to ISO 200. They use this when it is at 50 seconds into the video and it stops when it reaches one minute. I feel like they do this because they want to make the room darker than it already is to make to look better and create a cool effect with the other lights.
Nle also uses mid shot when he films his music video i feel like he uses this so that he can show the viewers that he is singing along with the music that is playing the effect that this will have is that the viewers get to see his expression while saying the lyrics.
He also uses medium close up i feel like he uses this so that he can show off all the jewelry he is wearing to the audience and this will have an effect on the viewers since he is showing of hs jewelry to use he wants us to have a reaction to it and depending on how you feel about stuff like that some viewers might find it cool and some might not care.
The benefit of single camera production is that it is cheaper and and for music videos you don't really need crazy editing.
TV drama
good girls
The TV drama show that I picked was good girls because this TV drama uses single camera technique to film. At the start of the scene they start of with a two shot I feel like they use this technique to help fit the two characters in perfectly for the views so that they don't have to film one person and move to the other person to show who is in that scene and who is speaking at the time and it helps save time and it will also introduces us quickly.
In the scene they also use a close up when they zoom into Mae Whitman (Annie Marks) face i feel like they do this so that the audience can see her emotions clearly and her reaction to the story Retta (Ruby Hill) is telling. In the background of the scene everything is blurred out when they do the close up on Mae Whitman this means that they want her to be the main focus in that close up and i think that they did change the aperture for the close up i think that they set the aperture to 2.2 i think that they done this because they want the main focus to be Mae Whitman reactions to the story and so that nothing else behind her will takes the audience's attention away from her reaction.
They also us an over the shoulder shot this shot is really good for when the characters are having a conversation. The effect this could have on the viewer is it that it shows us the reaction of the characters that are listening to the story and it also makes us feel like we are there listening to the story that she is telling.
They also do a close up on Retta (Ruby Hill) when she is telling her story they do this so that you can see her emotions on her face more clearly.
The benefit of using single camera production is that it is cheaper and because they are in a car they don't need multiple cameras because there might not even be enough space for multiple cameras.
documentaries
The documentary I picked was a documentary by David Attenborough's. I picked this documentary because single camera production is used when they where making this documentary.
The first camera technique is a angle/shot. I noticed in the documentary an establishing shot is used, they used this shot at the start of the documentary.The effect this shot has on the viewers is that it gives the viewers a clear shot of the type of environment they are filming in and the type of environment the animals live in. This is because the shot is so far out and so that makes it easy to capture a lot of stuff in a single shot.
Another camera technique they used is a type of framing, they used an extreme close up on the cheetah. This will have a good effect on the viewer because we get to see this threatening animal up close and the specific features on the animals face this shows us the lifeless eyes of this animal that will that will kill for satisfaction or to survive. The viewers would like to see a technique like this because it isn't easy to get a good shot of such a dangerous animal.
They use a close up on the ostrich when they do this close up the effect this will have is that it can clearly show us the face of the ostrich and its reaction to seeing a cheetah and how unbothered it is to seeing the single cheetah. But also in the scene everything behind the ostrich is really blurred out this is because they changed the aperture so that it could make the ostrich the main focus and nothing else they changed to an aperture of 1.8.
Another camera technique they use is tracking they used this because they need to record the chase of when the cheetah is trying to catch its prey which is the ostrich. This will have a good effect on the viewers because it can clearly show us a good chase and how fast a cheetah really is and how they would take down their prey.
They also use another camera technique which is a type of framing and it is a long shot. The effect this will have is that the viewers will get to see the hunt more clearly and from a good angle so then we can see more clearly the type of techniques the cheetah uses to hunt and how the ostrich tries to get away.
They also use a wide shot when they are filming the cheetahs they use this because they would want to get all three cheetahs in the shot so the viewers can see that there are three cheetahs hunting together this will have an effect on the viewer because we get to see all of the cheetahs in one shot and how they walk through the place looking for food.
They use a wide angle again to capture when the cheetahs finally catch up to the ostrich they use this because it will get how they bring down the ostrich down and everything else. The effect this can have on the viewer is that we get to see the strength of all the three brothers combined.
The benefits of using single camera production is that it will be cheaper and it will be easier to use considering that they are outside trying to record a hunt and you don't want to mess up the hunt if there are a lot of cameras there it could scare the animals.

the point of this risk assessment is to see all the risk we could face while filming our music video and it is also there so we know how to avoid these risk and the chances of it happening while filming

We have the equipment booking sheet so that we can claim all the stuff we want to use for our music video. Also to make sure that the people we are taking it from know what we need.
The shooting schedule
We have a shooting schedule so that it is clear at what time all of us will have to be there and so that we wont all be in a rush and we will all be organised
The video log sheet
The video log sheet is used to tell the editors about the scenes we shot what we like what we didn't like and what we would recommend them to use and for us to tell them what the scene was about
The location recce
This is so that we know where we will be shooting and so that we know who we need to ask to film at that place and if stuff like their is space for parking and places to eat near by.

The shooting script is so that we know what shots we are going to use when and how long the shots will be

This is use so that we know how we are going to film it before hand so that it isn't rushed and so that it will turn it out well
