LAA: Core assessment
Codes and conventions
There are many forms of codes and conventions that are used in the different sectors. One main example of codes and conventions you see in factual programs is presenter-led. A presenter in a factual program can influence audiences by providing context, explaining complex topics, and presenting information in an engaging and understandable way.
This isn't the only way presenters can influence audiences by sharing their personal experiences or expertise on a topic as well as by using humor or storytelling to make information more relatable.
Additionally, presenters can use their platforms to raise awareness about important issues and encourage viewers to take action.
An example of presenters in a factual genre is David Atttenbourough he is a presenter that is mostly know for his work on documentaries he talks throughout the documentary giving the audience information that they didn't know about or they explain the situation that is going on in the show.
Another form of code and conventions that is used in factual programs is use of interviews. The use of interviews in factual programs is very important while so programs might not use them most programs will the use if interviews all the audience to get a deeper understanding to the situation going on or a better understand on the person doing the interview and how they feel. The use of interviews are there for the audience to really get a deeper insight on certain situations. An example of this is the TV show 60 days in the show is about prison the use of interviews in the show help the audience understand how the secret inmate feels about being in prison they talk about the emotions what they miss ETC this helps the audience get a deeper insight of their feelings and how prison really treats a person.
Another form of code and conventions used in factual programs is narrativization this is the process of turning events or experiences into narrative or story. This can involve selecting certain details organizing them in a particular way and assigning meaning or significance to them. An example of narrativization is the show night stalker this is a TV series about a murderer using interviers and actual footage on the case. The show night stalker was based on a true story of the murderer richard ramiez a serial killer this makes the show night stalker a narrativizantion because it is based of a true story.
Another form code and conventions is dramatization this is the process of turning a story or event into a dramtic presentation, such as a play, movie, or television show. This can ivolve adding fictional elements such as dialogue or characters to create a more engaging or entertaining story. It can also be used to bring history life explore complex issues or simply to entertain audiences. An example show is The crown this show is an historical drama that tells the story of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Interview example
In this shows people go into prison as undercover inmates for 60 days and while in the program they hold interviews not only for the officers but for the inmates as well the reason for this is because they want use the audience to understand how they are feeling inside prison another reason they do interviews is to also give us some more information on what is going on

Dramatization
The night stalker is a show based on a real life killer in the show they talk about how it all started to the end his arrest. This is a dramatization because it explains a real life story to the audience
This documentary also usd interviews of people involed in the murder this could be the officers involed in the case or other people
Legal issue
Opinion- An opinion is a personal belief or judgement about a particular topic or issue. Opinions can be informed by a variety of factors such as personal experience, cultural backgrounds, education or political or ideological beliefs.
Why opinions are significant in the world of factual programming is because they can help shape the narrative and provide context for the facts being presented. When experts or other individual share their opinions on a particulr topic it can help to provide a more nuanced understanding of the issue at hand and can help to explain why certain facts or events are important or significant.
You can see this normally on the news channels when there is a debate going around the world they will have people from both sides present their own opinions on the matter to the audience. An example is when piers morgan went on sky news and had a debate on whether what the vegans where doing where right or wrong and if they had a real reason to do that piers morgan gave his own opinion on the situation.
Bias- Bias refers to a tendency or inclination to favor one perspective idea or group over others. Bias can manifest in a variety of ways such as in the way information is presented the language used to describe a particular issue or the selection of sources or experts.
Bias can be significant in factual programming as it can influence the way information is presented and interpreted. When bias is present it can lead to a particular issue and can prevent viewers from gaining a full and accurate picture of the facts.
An example of bias in the factual program genre is the news sometimes the news can portray one side as better than the other because the want the audience to be on their side the the matter sometimes it might be stuff related to the goverment and because they cant say anything bad about the goverment they will only say good things.
Privacy- Privacy means having control over what information about yourself you share with others.
Privacy is important in factual programming because it protects the people who are featured in the program from having their personal information or private moments exposed to a wide audience without their consent.
There are many examples of this these could be documentaries about killers or about anymore for shows to do documentaries TV show, films or any media product on someone they will need to look into their private life as well to find information to post. For example the Neymar documentary they used some private moments to show in the documentary this helped bring in more views because it is never seen footage or information.
representation- Representation refers to how people, groups, or ideas are portrayed in media such as TV shows, movies, and books.
Representation is important in factual programming because it ensures that people from different backgrounds and perspectives are accurately and respectfully portrayed. This can help to promote understanding and empathy between different groups of people.
Examples of representation is used a lot in factual programming when making a show, movie, or documentary about someone it is important how you represent them because the way you represent them is the way the audience will see the actually person.

Objectivity is important in factual programming because it ensures that the information presented is accurate and unbiased. This allows viewers to make informed decisions based on the facts presented, rather than being influenced by personal opinions or biases.

Opinion
This sky talk show is an example of opinions one example is when Piers Morgan had an interview with a vegan were they talked about their beliefs about vegans they both gave their opinion on the topic in the had. What made both their statements opinions is the facts that their is no correct answer to the topic just opinions.
The show also uses interviews how they do this is they bring on guest to talk about a certain topic

Privacy
The neymar documentary is an example of privacy the reason for this is because in this documentary we get to see private stuff that might have not been revealed to the media yet. In he media there are two sides to privacy this could be someone telling the media something private or it could be the media leaking something private. But in this case the neymar documentary was something realised by himself
